A yoga posture is a specific arrangement of the human body held steadily in a particular shape. During this state, the body, mind, and breath become calm and still — this tranquil state is what is known as a yoga pose.
Meditation is a practice used to realize the ultimate truth within oneself through direct inner awareness. By bringing together the body, breath, and thoughts, all sources of energy are focused toward a single point — this deep concentration is the essence of meditation.
Yoga Mudras are specific gestures or postures that connect the inner energy of the human body with the universal energy that exists within nature and the cosmos. These mudras can be practiced using the fingertips and palms, or by engaging the entire body, depending on the type and purpose of the gesture.
Bandha refers to the gentle locking or contraction of three main regions of the body — the abdomen, the throat, and the base of the spine. Through this practice, impurities within the body are expelled, and subtle dormant energies are awakened and absorbed, revitalizing the entire system.
Yoga philosophy is the guiding vision that leads humanity toward self-realization — understanding one’s true nature from within. It is the path through which a person transcends the ordinary human state, transforms toward divinity, journeys toward the Supreme (Brahman) nature, and ultimately attains liberation from the cycle of worldly existence.
Pranayama is a method of controlling the inhalation and exhalation of breath in a rhythmic manner. Through this practice, a person activates and harmonizes the three bodies within — the vital (pranic) body, the mental body, and the physical body — making them vibrant and fully functional.
